On a cold and windy evening, only two days before Halloween, there was a trunk-or-treat being held by MEHS and CARS club.
My friends and I helped get everything set up at 5:15pm at Melhorn, both in the back parking lot, and in the front garden area. The event was ready for full swing when it started at 6:30pm, with a huge line of families already forming at the side of the lot.
There were many children and family group costumes, with many people wandering around and loving the vintage cars and their decorations. When the families were done with the cold, they could go around to the front and have hot cider, cocoa, and chili before heading to their next destination.
The event was packed in mere minutes, and everyone was swarmed with little kids saying, “What’s that?” and “Trick or treat!” as the theme music for Jurassic Park and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” played in the background. There were a few dogs, but a lot of costumes and a lot of excitement for the upcoming holiday. There was an amazing turnout and many happy faces leaving to go home after their excited, chilly evening.
