Winter is here! Which means it time for some warm cozy foods. To me the one that tops that list is chili. One of the best things about chili is it normally cooks for a lot of people, or lots of leftovers. Chili is a warm cooked meal for the whole family to enjoy.  Here is my family recipe for chili. I hope you take time to try it and enjoy it.

Ingredients (cooks for family of 8):

-2 cans of black beans

-2 cans of red kidney beans

-3 cans of chili beans

-1 giant (15 oz) can of tomatoes

-half a diced onion

-2 pounds of ground beef

-2 tablespoons of garlic

-1 packet of chili seasoning

Directions:

  1. First, cook your ground beef in a saucepan until brown.
  2. Add garlic and diced onions once the beef is brown in the saucepan.
  3. Next, you will take your cans of black beans, red beans, chili beans, and tomatoes and put it in a giant pot to cook on medium heat. You will put everything in, juices, and all.
  4. Now, combine the ground beef mixture into the giant pot with your bean mixture.
  5. Then you will add your packet of chili seasoning without water. The juices from the bean mixture will have done the same job. This gives the chili a thicker consistency. If you prefer a more liquid base chili add a cup of water with your packet.
  6. Finally, you will let your chili set for 30 minutes, letting the beans cook. While this is cooked, make sure to stir on occasion so the chili doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot.

I hope you enjoy this chili recipe. It is a recipe for the whole family to enjoy, even picky children.
