There was a bill that passed recently that intends to ban TikTok. TikTok was first released in 2017 and went saw mild success. Little did we know it would all change in 2020 during COVID-19.

Once the pandemic hit, TikTok became a safe space from all the distractions from the outside world. It was like it brought everyone together and that was just the beginning of it all. Whether it was learning a new dance trend or new skill, this platform could help people. The userbase would only keep growing from here.

Now people have created brands within the app and a platform to promote themselves, and politicians want to take that away from us. Makes a person think why are they so persistent on taking it away. Part of the reason is because it isn’t owned by an American company. But how different would TikTok be if it was American owned?

TikTok has taught valuable life lessons that we probably wouldn’t know if it wasn’t there in the first place. We learn more and more how corrupt this world is and maybe that’s why the government wants to take it from us. For a lot of people, it has become a lifestyle. It has become a job to be a content creator. The ban would affect users that watch as well as users that make a living off it.

TikTok is a fun platform to watch videos and dance but it’s also informative. Why do they want to take it from us?
