Juan Soto was a big player for the New York Yankees, making a World Series with them while only playing one single season for them. After signing a huge deal with Under Armour at only 26 years old, the Yankee Superstar is now going to make $765 million, which is the biggest contract in the sports history.

Juan Sotos’ deal is showing how much current college athletes and future professionals can get paid. College athletes have been allowed to get paid by NIL deals since the NCAA commissions voted on athletes being able to receive money from companies. Shedeur Sanders, who plays for the University of Colorado, is getting paid by multiple brands and is currently making $4.7 million, which is a lot for a college athlete. Still, that number could grow as the athletes get more marketable. Juan Soto did beat last year’s biggest deal of $700 million, which was held by Shohei Ohtani, who also held the largest deal in baseball history.

Juan Soto had $3 million in endorsements before the deal with Under Armour, which is the reason for this being such a significant change. Nobody has seen an athlete jump in numbers of salary that much before. Previously, when he was making $3 million in endorsements, he was the No. 13 ranked Major League baseball player. This also made him one of the youngest ever to be paid that much in the top 15. Other than Under Armour, he also has endorsements from Wilson, Sorare, New Era, and Tops, which are very prominent companies that work in the baseball scene. Soto has been seen wearing his wide variety of cleats out in the field, ranging from $90 dollars to $130, which should make him a pretty penny.
