Kelsy Gosset Dennis, Assistant professor of photography and art

By Hannah Butler

Kelsy Gosset Dennis, assistant professor of photography and art, is a new professor at McPherson College this year. She teaches all the photograpy classes and a few of the art foundation courses. Before coming to McPherson College, she taught part-time at the collegiate level at Wichita State University, Friends University and Butler Community College. Gosset Dennis has her own freelance photography business and is a practicing artist. She participates in First Friday Art Crawls in Wichita and many of her works have been featured around the world.

Her photographs and short video works address themes like identity, societal expectations and gender. To bring up these sometimes-controversial topics, Gossett Dennis likes to use humor.

She has lived in Wichita for over 10 years but was in McPherson for a while when she was very young. Gosset Dennis loves traveling and exploring new places. She also enjoys practicing her art, doing yoga or doing house projects with her wife in preparation for their first child.
