This fall, McPherson College finished building a new student health center on campus. The new health center contains medical offices, along with counseling offices for student use. Having a health center on campus helps students find more time to seek medical attention, is more affordable, and overall, more convenient for the student body. According to previous student surveys, access to health and counseling services on campus was a concern. To answer the concern, McPherson College started by partnering with Partners in Family Care in 2014, which MC still partners with today, but in a newly finished and convenient location.

The new student health clinic also works with Client Centered Counseling in McPherson. They provide up to 10 free visits to students on campus, whether at the health clinic or their downtown location. Just a few weeks ago, the clinic offered four days for faculty, staff and students to get flu shots. Health clinic services are included in tuition for full-time students, therefore, visits, other than lab services, throughout the year are free. Hannah Butler, a student on campus, says, “I think it’s important to have it (a health clinic) on campus for everyone.” The new Partners in Family Care health clinic is located on 1800 Gordon Street, open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
