The McPherson College baseball season is in full swing and as the players begin looking towards the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, one player has already made plans for after the season concludes. Senior outfielder Caleb Feuerstake has agreed to join the Empire State Greys of the Frontier League at the conclusion of the 2023 season. The Frontier League stands as one of the few independent baseball leagues who are partnered with Major League Baseball. The league features sixteen teams including three teams from Canada. The Empire State Greys are located in Tupper Lake, New York and play out of Tupper Lake Municipal Park.
Feuerstake, the Waterdown, Ontario native, has been a key contributor to the Bulldogs for two years now, leading both offensively and defensively. In 2022, Feuerstake was named First-Team All-KCAC Centerfielder after hitting .398 with seven Home Runs and 47 Runs Batted In over 54 Games. Although this season is not yet completed, Feuerstake is on a similar trajectory as he is currently hitting .345 with 5 Home Runs and 45 Runs Batted In over 36 Games thus far. Feuerstake will join former teammate, catcher Trevor Johnson as the only (soon-to-be two) former Bulldogs to play professionally after their graduation. Congratulations to Caleb and his family on this exciting accomplishment!
