Even though we’re in Kansas and the weather has so many mood swings, it IS spring! Despite the rapid approach of the end of the semester, it is lovely outside. And because this time of year is my favorite, I figured I’d make a list about the top 5 things to do in Spring. I know this time of year is typically pretty stressful, so I made sure that everything on this list is low-stress, and not particularly expensive. You can do all of these things in town!

5. Open Your Windows

If you have/want to stay in your room, this is the option for you. I’ve often found that some natural sunlight and fresh air is atleast somewhat pleasant. As I’m writing this, I’m sitting on my bed, with my blinds and windows open!

4. Have Some Lunch Outside

You’re just going to have to trust me on this one. Food tastes better when you’re outside, so if you have some time, it might be a good idea to sit somewhere on campus, and just have your lunch in the fresh air. Even better, bring a friend with you!

3. Take a Walk

Even if it’s just a walk around campus, I’ve often found that a “just for funsies” walk is the perfect way to settle down after a busy day. Besides, it’s a great way to look around and see the sights of springtime.

2. Throw a Flying Disk with Your Friends

This is a good one for those sporty types, who love a good game. Gather some friends, get a flying disc, and toss it! Whether you’re playing Ultimate-style, or you’re just having a good time tossing it to each other, it’s hard to beat.

1. Bust Out the Bubbles

You might be thinking “But Toby, I’m not a little kid anymore!”. To that I must say “What do you have to lose by just taking a few minutes to chill outside, and blow some bubbles?”. It’s a fairly calming activity, and frankly, you deserve it.

No matter what you do, taking time to rest is always in season. Happy Spring!
