The point guard for the McPherson College women’s basketball team has been a familiar face for several seasons now. Dy’mond McElrath has been a workhorse for Coach Josh Nichols since arriving in the 2020-2021 season. As of writing, McElrath is averaging 12.6 point per game, which is her Bulldog career high, shooting 36% from the field, and 78% from the free throw line. This extra year has meant a lot to McElrath: “This season was all or nothing for me. Not everyone was lucky enough to get a fifth year. So, with my season-ending injury my junior year, and a fairly decent season my senior year, I wanted this year to just be about being all in and giving my last year of college ball everything I have.” After graduation McElrath plans to try to play overseas or pursue her master’s degree in communication. She will graduate in May with a bachelor’s in communication.
