For the first time in NFL history, two brothers will play one another in the Super Bowl. With the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20, and the Philadelphia Eagles beating the San Francisco 49ers 31-7, Jason Kelce of the Eagles and Travis Kelce of the Chiefs will line up against one another on football’s biggest stage.
For the Chiefs, it is their fifth appearance in the NFL’s championship game, and their third since February 2020. After falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2021 championship, Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City had to wait one more year to get another chance at the Lombardi trophy. Joe Burrow and the Bengals held the Chiefs out last season, and trash talk galore has made this year’s AFC championship mean just a little bit more to Andy Reid’s boys in red.
On the other side of the bracket, the Jalen Hurts-led Philadelphia Eagles are trying to bring a second Lombardi home to the City of Brotherly Love. In their fourth Super Bowl appearance, the Eagles will look to bring home the second trophy since 2017. The Eagles have been on a tear. After securing the first-round bye, the Eagles beat up the New York Giants 38-7, before handing it to the 49ers all at Lincoln Financial Field. While Hurts’ and the Eagles offense looks hot, not enough is being talked about the Eagles defense. They have only allowed 14 points in the post season.
Both teams will enter the game 14-3, and Vegas currently has the line set at -1.5 Philadelphia. That means the betting odds predict the Eagles will win by 1.5. Kickoff is at 5:30 P.M. Central time on Sunday, Feb. 12. The game takes place in Phoenix, Arizona, and will air on FOX channels.
