Build, protect or destroy? What role will you play in nature’s grand pyramid?
Originally an environmental stewardship class last spring, EcoPyramid is an educational card game where individuals race to build their pyramid first. Different cards allow players to attack their opponent’s pyramid, protect their own or even affect the entire group.
Much like other card games, EcoPyramid can be played for hours and with friends and family. EcoPyramid aims to be equally educational and entertaining at its core.
“The part that I enjoy the most out of this is being able to incorporate students from across campus into their educational experience and take expertise and insight from different departments to make this project even better than I could’ve imagined,” said Dustin Wilgers, professor and co-founder of EcoPyramid.
What started as a class project quickly became a college-wide entrepreneurial venture, EcoPyramid brought in students to help with graphic design, marketing and business elements.
“It’s awesome, honestly. Working closely with design majors and media majors and anybody we can incorporate into the game to help further our dream,” said senior Amanda Goering, one of the game’s creators.
EcoPyramid is available for early purchase on Kickstarter from now until December 14. Money raised will be used to help fund printing the game on an international scale.
