Softball season starts with new head coach

The McPherson College softball season is upon us and the Bulldogs look to improve on a strong 2022 season which saw them finish with a 26-22 Overall Record including going 16-8 in KCAC Play. This year brings with it, a new leader, Abby Bolton has been named the new Bulldog Head Coach after Tony Segovia left the role this past Summer to join the administrative side of McPherson College. Bolton will be joined by Graduate Assistant Coach Brittany Baroni who is in her second year part of the Bulldog Coaching Staff. Together they will look to lead the Bulldogs to a KCAC Championship in 2023. 

    The Bulldogs are returning many key pieces to their successful 2022 season including: Sr. Infielder Mackenzie Egan of Hudson, Quebec who finished 2022 hitting .300, with 5 Doubles, 5 Triples, 6 Home Runs while adding 37 RBIs over her 48 games, Sr. Catcher Lacy Weaver of Midlothian, Texas who lead the team in Batting Average at .365 while adding 13 Doubles and 38 RBIs and Sr. Pitcher Raegan Kleppe of McKinney, Texas who lead the Bulldogs in Innings Pitched with 156.1 and Strikeouts with 147 over 27 Appearances. 

    The Bulldogs will host the McPherson College Classic on March 10 and 11 bringing together teams from Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota as a highlight to their home schedule. Keep your eyes on the Bulldogs this year and follow along with McPherson Athletics on all social media platforms.
